Totally different from her Tucson based books. Seemed very realistic from what my parents lived through the 1940's.
Excellent book; well-written. You'll love some of the characters and hate others.
Excellent story provides a vivid portrait of the characters in white rural America. The man Frosty meets becomes a Navajo code talker in the war and they return to face the racial prejudice in her southern mill town. Difficult at times to read, but quite interesting.
