This is the first time I've given a review of a book and "Waterfall" is the first book that I've read of Clara Neggers. I loved it! I cried, laughed, got angry,......well, let's just say that I went through a wide range of emotions reading this book. And, oh, what a man!!......You'll know what I mean when you read it.

Lucy Blacker Swift is a widow who moves to Vermont with her two children. Three years later, strange events begin to happen and Lucy contacts Sebastian Redwing, her late husband's best friend, for help. Politics, suspense, revenge, obsession and a tepid romance are all here in this book. Typical Neggers although the plot is not as complex as some of her most recent work.

Continuing the family saga of the Dunnemore extended family. More good reading.

Started out fairly interesting and then about half way it just got boring and draggy and predictable and corny.

I enjoyed the characters very much. Very bad people, very good people - I enjoyed it. Quick read.
Excellent book. Carla Neggers is a great mystery writer that writes in-depth characters. I've loved every book of hers that I've read.
Really exciting with just the right mix of suspense and romance~

Awesome book. I couldn't put it down.
Three years after her husbands sudden death Lucy finds herself being stalked. Insteas of turning to her father-in-law Senator Jack Swift she turns to a man her husband made her promise to seek out if she was in trouble. Things heat up when Sebastian shows up on her doorstep with his troubled past.
Lucy Blacker Swift moves with her children to vermont after the death of her husband. Leaving the cutthroat world of Washington. Then unexplained things begin to happen. She contacts Sebastian Redwing, a security expert her husband once told her to go to if whe ever needed help. She is unaware of the fact that Sebastian has been in love with her since she married her husband. Against his better judgment and because he promised her husband that he would be there for her...he agrees to help her. Blackmail, vengeance and betrayal are what he discovers.
I really enjoyed this book. It is a good romantic suspence story.
Gotta say right up front, Carla Neggers is one of my most "favorite" authors.........been reading her since she began writing category romances, all those years ago ...and, she hasn't let me down yet!! Her newest book, The Waterfall, has something for everyone - - great dialogue (especially between Lucy and her kids), beautiful setting, very realistic and likeable hero/heroine, suspense, and of course, romance..........Now who could ask for more?? Three years ago when her husband died, Lucy moved herself and her two children from Washington, DC to a quaint farmhouse in Vermont. She owned an "adventure" travel agency and was planning on taking a tour to Costa Rica, but forcing herself to make a stop in Wyoming first, to see Sebastian Redwing, her husband's friend and security agent........Colin Swift had made Lucy promise that if she ever was in trouble, she would go to Sebastian..........and, with all the bizarre happenings lately, she had no other choice......she had been getting late-night phone calls and hangups, and a bullet was found inside her car..... Sebastian had loved Lucy for years even though he didn't let her know.........and even though he was hesitant to help, he did go back to Vermont to protect her and find out who was the culprit...... We know who the villain is from the beginning, but it doesn't detract from the wonderful read.......it builds up to a great climatic ending.. This author not only uses cute one-liners, she draws the reader right into the story.......I felt as though I was Lucy, feeling her emotions - her fears - her happiness......... Hooray for Carla once again!! Each new book of hers becomes my "favorite."
Book One of three stories, The Waterfall, Nights Landing, and The Rapids. She is a new author to me, and I did enjoy her writing.
A little romance, adventure and suspense.
nice mystery romance.
