My DD discovered a second use for these bags. She empties them carefully, shaking them out and stores fresh bread and rolls in them, securing with a clip to keep the air out. Innovative, right? |

Works really well, but make sure that anything you have just pulled from the oven sits until it is cold before placing in bag or it will actually get soggy. |

Ah, yes, all items are thoroughly cooled first. And, they work well for picking garden stuff to share like asparagus, green onions, etc. |

Would probably work well as protection when shipping books too. Last Edited on: 7/22/19 11:46 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

And, protecting items put into rural mailboxes on rainy days! |

I'd be really hesistant to use anything that had been in contact with food for book shipping. If you don't get every single little bit out you risk getting food on the book which attracts bugs and a lot of things have nuts--and a lot of people have nut allergies (or other food allergies). One shouldn't have to worry about food allergies when getting a book. There's so many sources of plastic in modern day that weren't in contact with food, it's way nicer to use those for shipping. |

These can also be used as liners when using shoeboxes (or other decorated cardboard boxes) as planters. When working with Mod-Podge, or white glue, you can put them on your work surface and your project won't stick to the wax paper. Last Edited on: 6/3/21 9:09 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

The bags are washable in warm soapy water which is also rinsed by warm water. Air dry! No problems with food lingering! |

Waxed cereal bags, and in fact any bags you already have but would ordinarily now just throw out without thinking twice---like chip bags, frozen veggie bags, those annoyingly thin produce bags, bread bags, hamburger bun bags---etc---there are zillion of these that you never even think about---can ALL be used for kitty litter removal. I mean, no cleaning necessary. Since I finally discovered this, I have never paid money for kitty litter removal since.
