Don Winslow is not well known, which is a shame. His series of books about Neal Carey are different than anything else I've ever read and are very enjoyable. Neal was picked up off the streets and trained by a master private investigator. He is extremely talented at what he does, which is to do special projects for a very highly placed private bank in Boston. The cases are interesting and a bit different than normal PI fare. If you haven't read Winslow, now is the time to start.
