The cute pictures and rhymes seem to help kids understand what the different feelings are. Our 2 year old even told me he was frustrated instead of hitting and that he was scared when we were watching a movie. I don't think he knew the names for his feelings before we read this book.
This book may best be suited for young children to preteens to discribe emotions. 'The Way I Feel' opens communication lines for children and parents to discuss feelings and appropriate ways to express them. This book also has nice illustrations.
I used this book with my students who have emotional needs. They were excited about reading it and seemed to enjoy it. It's brightly colored (noticeable) and easy to read.
Great books for getting to understand their feelings.
This is a book about emotions, for children 3 and up. The pictures are very bright and colorful.
This is one of my favorite books for school counselors and child/adolescent counselors! It is also a great book for parents to read to their children to help build emotional intelligence. Children & adolescents will build their feelings' vocabulary by reading this book. The colorful, fun, and eccentric pictures help children make connections to the feeling words inside. A great therapeutic and parenting tool! As a middle school counselor, I have this book in my "classroom" library. As an elementary school counselor, I would use this daily!
Cute book of emotions. Each emotion is written about in rhyme. Large, soft colored illustrations. Note for parents at the end to encourage discussion between parent and children about their emotions.
