I loved this book. Read it in 3 days.
David Giffels does a wonderful job of describing what it's like to take on an old mansion of a house that is so severly in disrepair it would make a normal person run for their lives!!! This once majestic brick mansion built in 1913 is in an unimaginable state of total destruction when the author and his wife decide to buy it.
Mishaps and unexpected repairs hound them, animals in the attic, a hint of a ghost in the house and sad losses along the way. You will laugh outloud at times and silently mourn for the author's losses too.I found the book very interesting and hard to put down. Makes me very grateful for only the small repairs my own house needs!

Inspiring, insightful and often downright hilarious, this author has a way with words. I enjoyed his journey through restoring this monster of a house that they fell in love with (he made me fall in love with it too) and making his family whole. I couldn't put it down.

I stopped reading on page 102 made myself not mark it read and pick it up again, that was a mistake. It was just a ok book but made me nervous all the way through. I could not get into the do it all without a clue, a overall picture of might and could happen before you jumped into projects. Writing humor and story telling is why I am giving book two stars.
