All Carla Kelly's books have genuine and believable characters. She doesn't follow a formula, and does an excellent job developing the romantic relationship.
A fantastic romance set during the Napoleonic War. Carla Kelly is an amazing writer.
This one is a page-turner/can't put it down story. I normally do not like to read 'war' stories, but this one was the exception. If you really want to know about the Napoleonic War from a medic's perspective, Carla Kelly has provided you with a realistic picture. There are some rough scenes and some wonderfully romantic ones. I admit that I skimmed across some of the war scenes just because I had to find out how it was going to end. The characters are phenomenal. You can feel for them and with them. Recommend!
