One of my favorite books!! It's full of information about WWII events in Italy from both the English and the Italian perspective and the effect it had on the lives of the local Italians. I love the information about the foods/meals and how the resources available affect what's served. Lots of tidbits of research show up in the writing of the book, which made the book especially interesting.

Good story Fluid writing that draws you into characters. About the war, it's characters, love & life during the difficult war years. Real graphic sex but still a great book. Will look for others written by Capella.
