Beverly L. (bevychap) reviewed Weeknight Gluten-Free (Williams-Sonoma): Simple, healthy gluten-free meals for every night of the week on + 151 more book reviews
WEEKNIGHT? seriously? This is the kind of cookbook that gives your basic working mom an inferiority complex. These recipes are, realistically, "foodie" recipes. Each one of them with titles like "Artic Char and Green Beans with Arugula-Lemon Pesto" or "Grilled Korean-Style Short Ribs with Asian Slaw".
But that's what you get with Williams-Sonoma, I guess. Yuppie food. Just recognize this cookbook for what it is, and have fun with it. They do have some really creative new GF ideas. For example, several recipes revolve around "socca", a naturally gluten free flatbread from provence. There is also a LOT of polenta. Whole lot. Too bad corn is irritating to many GF tummies...
For my part, I was drawn to the Thai-Style Tofu and Butternut Squash Curry. But it is SO a weekend recipe!!
