I just got my new Kindle today!! Woo hoo!! My Christmas present to me! I can't wait to start using it. It's plugged in and charging right now. Looking forward to helpful tips on here and some new ebook reading buddies!

No they are not available for trading, if that's what you mean.

I have the newest Sony PRS 950 and love it. I didn't want a Kindle since you can't download library books to it and they say probably never will be able to. I bought the Nook but it was two small for my purposes and didn't have an adjustable contrast (none but the Sony have it). The color Nook doesn't have 3G which is also a requirement for us since we don't normally have wi-fi. Besides I heard that you can't read it outside as well and it has so many other things on it I don't want or need.  The Sony is big enough to have an entire page on it at a time and has pearl e ink which shows up much better than any of the others. I have been downloading library books to it which was my main purpose. If I buy a book I want to be able to pass it on to someone else.

I know it is too big for those who want to carry it in their purse (unless you have a large purse) but since we are full-time RVers and travel a lot I don't usually have access to a library and needed to cut down on the number of books I carry with me. For my purposes it is the only one that meets the criteria I have.

Would love to hear what others have and why it is the perfect one for you. I was lucky to have a group that gave me tips on what they had and why. They have among them a Kindle, a Nook and a Sony so I got some good ideas on what each liked about their choice. Some had two so they could buy books on one and get library books with the other.

As an author who has a number of books that are in e-book format, I thought I'd stop by and say hello. :) 

cant get my nook to concet to wireless internet

I have the Nook Color, which is a tablet. I have had difficulty connecting to wi-fi in different situations. To name one location that was a problem was airport wi-fi. At my Sister's house, it is no problem. There is live help on internet. Just Google Nook Color and find live help. They have helped me through problems, such as down loading books from library. Hint, you must download Adobe before using  library e books. One library had a password and I had to get that from the front desk. Crazy.

The Nook has the best color. However, it is hard to read the screen in bright sunlight,for ex. at pool. I plan to buy the non-glare cover before Spring.

I am still   a newbie on it's use, but highly suggest the LIVE HELP for Nook Color. When I have sent emails to Live Help, I never worry about putting serial # or whatever they ask for. It was too much trouble and I was frustrated.

I own a Kindle Fire and really enjoy it.  I have been able to read several good books on it and my library recently started lending books (not many but the list is always expanding) that I can put on my Kindle which has saved me a trip to the library when I am to busy to fit it into my schedule.  

Look forward to hearing from more Kindle Fire owners.
