Helpful Score: 2
This was a fairly pleasant read. The heroine was plucky and resourceful, the hero was gallant and intelligent and the sex was off the chizzy; excluding some irritating "no means yes" moments so prevalent in the romance genre. Miss. Dodd delivers an engaging romp with characters you come to care about even though they are a little annoying. Though, i must say i much prefer the scheming cousin Ian! What is it about a failed man that is so... yummy! Only on paper, of course. Enjoy!
This was a great Dodd story It is one of my keepers I am letting go. This story one of her best inventive and it was so well written I remember I did not put it easily down until it was finished. Yes, it was sensual, but that was secondary to all that was going on in the story.
Although it is a fun and fast read, I would not consider it one of Ms. Dodd's best books. The plot seemed a bit too contrived (even for a traditional romance), and the subplot involving the murder is built up throughout the book, but the reolution seemed like an afterthought. All in all, a fun read. Don't let my review discourage you.
Set in 1793, one of Christina Dodd's first non-medieval stories. For an excellent review, see: http://www.likesbooks.com/cgi-bin/bookReview.pl?BookReviewId=4007
She thought after 10 years he would forget the night they might. He didn't. When he demands her help, she does not refuse, but will he be her true love or not? Another great historical romance by Ms. Dodd.
I love Christina Dodd and this was another winner!
One author that always gives her all to her readers.
Very good book!
As always I love everything Christina Dodd writes. I can hardly stand to put her books down. She always hqas good characters and witty dialogues.
An easy read. Was expecting more mystery and how they (Mary Fairchild and Sebastian Durant) met ten years ago. A little bit disappointed.
If you like Christina Dodd, you should like this one. I thought it was actually pretty good.
Great for those with rape-fantasies and a thing for hyper masculine dickheads.
The hero in this book is literally a walking dildo.
Christina is a piece of shit, and so is this book.
