Another book hard to rate for me. I'm not a fan of VLT overall but the first of her werewolf series was deeper than I expect from her so I decided to give one more a try. Early on I was impressed. Kate and Duncan meet up at the airport and trade words. They are on opposite sides of a philosophical debate of who weres should mate with. It was obvious early that they were equally matched and on equal footing. I loved that, too often in shifter books the male runs over the female. Unfortunately the talking continues while they get snow stranded in the cabin and drags on and on and on. Inevitably they are attracted to each other and talk about not going to bed together but of course they do. The cabin scenes take a whopping 100 pages of the book. Too unbelievably long!

At the convention they stick to their sides. I liked how the convention was set up and looked forward to the story progressing from that point. Things again seemed evenly matched, the Woof side gained and the Howl sided gained. Kate and Duncan do a great job of keeping their relationship a secret.

Unfortunately the convention doesn't turn into much. Then there's a hacked blog post that causes a breakdown between Duncan and Kate (the needed BIG MISUNDERSTANDING) that dragged on and just seemed dumb. The big baddie was obvious thought I can't decide if I liked how that played out or not.

Kate and Duncan do so much talking in this one and self exploration that their romance felt real and made sense though the instalove in just a few days was standard romance trope. An HFN with an epilogue would have made me happier.
