Finishing up Rumors of My Death by Gina Ranalli. My copy of Wolf by Mo Hayder just arrived yesterday and I'm dying to start it, but will probably wait on that on until Friday, the start of a 3-day weekend. Not sure what I'll pick up in the meantime. |

I am reading Summer of Night by Dan Simmons and The Shining by Stephen King |

Finished Exoskeleton by Shane Stadler. Interesting premise, executed as "torture pornography " as one amazon reviewer said. Wish I had read That review before reading the book. Not that I am squeamish or anything, there just wasn't enough of a story to hold it up. Just endless chapter after chapter of what became tedious torture scenes.

Reading The Golem by Edward Lee. Pretty good so far. |

I'm reading There Once Lived a Woman Who Tried to Kill Her Neighbor's Baby, by Ludmilla Petrushevskaya. It's a book of 19 "Scary Fairy Tales", by Russias's best-known living writer. I'm reading them in the day-time, NOT at bed-time. Last Edited on: 4/23/14 6:08 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Apocalypse Law Vol 1 by John Grit |

Finished Pandemic by Scott Sigler. I thought it was a decent 3rd book in a trilogy, where all 3 books had a good, complete story arc. I would recommend the series. |

Starting 20th century ghosts by Joe Hill |

Reading Brain Mold by Kyle Warner. It's decently disturbing, if slightly strange. |
Started listening to Origin by JA Konrath. |

Brain Mold looks good! Just added it to my WL. I'm finishing up The Good-bye Door by Diana Britt Franklin. It's a biography of the first female serial killer to die in the electric chair. |

I just finished The Girl With All The Gifts by M R Carey and it's definitely a 5 star book. Loved it! It will be a contender for my book of the year. Last Edited on: 6/21/14 9:21 PM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

Just looked up the Carey book, Darcy. Added it to my WL. I'm currently reading The Bird Eater by Ania Ahlborn. |
Cool - how is The Bird Eater? |
The Bird Eater is pretty good so far. 6/30- Finished The Bird Eater and this one is a keeper. I was on the fence with Ahlborn as I loved Seed, but thought The Neighbors was a little weak. Now I'm looking forward to reading The Shuddering...as soon as I get a copy, that is. Last Edited on: 6/30/14 11:35 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Good to see you again, Scott! My youngest son and his wife are in the process of moving to Raleigh from Charlotte. |

Good to see you again Sandy. The project I was working on finally finished and I no longer a "contractor" but now a full time employee!!! So I will be able to get more reading time in and more paperback swap time in as well... Many beautiful areas down here in Raleigh! |

Last time I was in Raleigh was a 3rd grade school field trip some 48 years ago. I remember the bus ride and tobacco fields, but that's about it. LOL! About halfway through Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King. |

Finished several since I last posted, but right now I'm working on Zone One by Colson Whitehead. Summer vacation ends today, back to work on Monday. Returning to the classroom might be the biggest horror story of my year. LOL! |
I feel the same way about my son's return to school, lol. I loved Zone One! |

Finished Zone One last night. Overall, I liked it, but for some reason I had a heck of time getting through it. Colson Whitehead is an interesting writer. Of the two books of his I've read though, I preferred Sag Harbor. Finally picking up Gone Girl. It's been sitting on my shelf for almost a year now and with the movie coming out soon, this seems like a good time to get it read. With one exception, all of my students have IEPs that come up between now and Christmas break, so that and all the Christmas present knitting projects are taking up most of my nights. I'll be lucky to get more than a book month a done at this rate. |

I am reading The Three by Sarah Lotz. I have little time for reading these days, and I have been reading this for a month now. It's really good though. No matter how busy I am, Memphis still needs walking, so audio books are still going strong. Just started Orphan Train this morning. |
