Sweet and fluffy. Perfect for those days when you want something happy, easy, but not too shallow to read. It was a perfect read after I finished several depressing books in the middle of a very stressful work week. Not feeling so well, I took a few hours to read this in one go and found myself actually smiling and laughing out loud--something I *never* do. It literally made me feel better. I'd probably judge it much more harshly if I hadn't desperately needed something so feel-good. I could definitely tear this sucker apart (the plot is a little obvious, Jane Austen plays a very tiny part, and the Regency era is depicted about as accurately as Disney depicts Grimm's fairytales) but I just don't want to. I found this book at the perfect moment in my life for it to have the most impact. If you are stressed out and want a little escapism, you could do worse than to delve into this light read. (And the hero is a badass, modern Darcy-like figure, so not too shabby!)

This was a OK read, the story was funny in parts but for me lacked the depth of character I am used to reading. They were all very shallow in development, the storyline moved along smoothly and you could really anticipate what was going to happen. A Ok read.

If you are expecting anything like Jane Austen, this is the wrong book for you (she is just a minor character in this work) but if you are looking for a time-traveling Regency novel...this is a fun romp with all the expected characters; the dangerous rake, the innocent girls, the character who is not who you think, etc. Lightweight fun.
