Good book...loved the characters and bouncing back and forth to understand
their history with each other. Read this in one setting..easy read.
Didn't like the ending-felt the author just kind of "wimped out".
But overall..I would recommend the book to friends. :)

This is book filled with flawed characters who due to their own issues cause problems for those near them. It questions whether a person can be forgiven by those they have wronged. Also, when you leave someone it is not just a question of who you left behind but also what do you have left. The structure of the book makes it interesting in that chapters jump back and forth in time and is written from different characters and their perspective. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

The story is told from the perspective of three of the characters and jumps around a lot between them and different times in the their lives. It was fast and pretty easy to read (considering the jumping around), but it wasn't all that interesting or compelling. Nothing to write home about. Overall, a so-so read.

I listened to this one on audio CD and was very pleasantly surprised. This debut novel from Mr. Allison is an engaging story told in several different voices. Terrifc prose. Wonderful, believable characters. A powerful story of love, loss, regret and finding peace. Highly recommend this little gem.
