As much as I enjoyed this book, this story started slow for me; but even then I was being drawn in. Like an accident you see on the highway, you know its bad but you can't look away. The family dynamic is poor even when they rally around one other. Like real life there is no happy ending but there are relatively comfortable adjustments.
