The best Dortmunder book I have read and I have read all but one of them. This one is unique because in it he can do no wrong!! Of course the one where he steals the bank is my second favorite

Westlake spins a reverse on his main character John Dortmunder. John receives a 'lucky' ring from his girl friend,May. The narrative is laconic and fast,the jokes constant,fresh,and funny. This is Westlake at his funniest mystery/comedic best. Gery
