Another brilliant book by Lori Foster! I kick myself every time I think about how long I owned it before starting it. I wanted to wait--like slowly unwrapping a Christmas present or something. Now I wish I had started reading as soon as I got it!

I admit I am a huge Lori Foster fan. Her books suit me perfectly: strong men and women; wonderful, flowing, error-free writing; clever plot lines; great dialogue; original ideas; emotional connections without schmaltz. This one has all that and more. I can't wait to read the rest of the series (as soon as I saw them for sale, I preordered the set).

And you've got to love that cover! Yum!

(Is it me, or does it seem like there is a message to her fans in making the heroine a writer whose fans turned on her over her last book?)

Anyway, in all my enthusiasm, I gave the book five stars. Maybe it is a 4.5 in reality (because nothing in life is perfect, after all), but darn it I am so happy that she has a new book out that I gave the book all the stars possible.

I found this book to be fairly dull and a chore to get through. The mystery/suspense was good. The only reason I kept reading was to find out whodunnit.

I found Dare and Molly to be one dimensional and boring. I got tired of reading about Dare's wonderful physique and physical qualities and Molly's "I don't want to be a bother" attitude got to be a drag. These two things were mentioned way too many times in the book. I doubt I'll read the next book in the series.

This was a strange read for many reasons. This is the first book I've ever read by this author and I was compelled to read it due to the amazing cover and description on the back of the book. The story really dragged for me due to the extreme length of the book. Frankly, no romance/action book should be 400 plus pages. It was extremely dull in places and I felt the editor should have edited lots of material out of the book. On the positive side I enjoyed the hero Dare and the heroine Molly. I liked the fact that Dare really falls for Molly and is very protective of her. Overall, this book was so so. I felt many things were a bit random, such as how quickly the couple bonded and how quickly they fell in love. Honestly, this was an exhausting read.

Lori Foster doesn't disappoint- I fell in love with both lead characters- good, independent, characters with a sturdy plot line. Looking for the next in the series.

Hm... let me see...one hot smexy alpha male with feelings of responsibility to anyone he deems smaller, weaker, and/or less intelligent than he. Considering he is exceptionally good at his protection job and can solve mysteries while at it; I would say he feels responsible for the whole of humanity. Add in a huge wallop of smart, independent woman who is kidnapped but refuses to be a victim. Plus don't forget the dash of a fun gay best friend and two lovable labs Dare calls "his girls" and you come up with a delicious recipe for a romantic suspense mystery that is fun to read. Okay, so I don't cook (obviously) but I think I still make the point that this is a delicious romance with action. :)

Those disappointed in the quickie romance will enjoy this story. In fact, I would say that it is more about Dare's character and how he feels about Molly and his job. We really get to know his sensitive side even though there is no denying he is a kick-ass alpha male. We also really get to know Molly; perhaps in a lesser way, but in no way less important. We understand what happened in her background to make her so strong and independent. Sometimes I admit I wanted a little more in honest reaction from her, but at the same time I think it might have gotten in the way of the story if not done well. However, there is the mystery to be solved and her protection to be taken care of, but really that part becomes more background and the reason we get to know these characters so intimately.

I give this book 4 stars. Although there is action and mystery, it really is a character book where the romance ends in a HEA.

A lot like her other books - alpha male, tiny female. Unique in that the female character isn't a push over and she isn't as weak as most of her other main characters. Also, not too much sex - though, it was hot! Understandable heat, but not overwhelming. Ms. Foster does have a "talent" for reusing the same trite phrases over and over in each book. A good, quick read if you like books without much thought.

Another great read by Lori Foster. I love when the heroin is a brave person. Can't wait to read the rest of the "Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor" books.
