I enjoyed this book very much. Stella Suberman tells of her life on the home front during World War II. This memoir reads as smoothly as any novel and yet the reader is always mindful that it is a story of real people with real struggles and real losses. A hard to put down book written in a sweet and innocent, and at the same time down to earth style.

Well written, enjoyable book. I think I liked her first book, The Jew Store, more though.
