Helpful Score: 1
I debated on my rating for this book but I decided a 2 is all I can give
The first thing that struck me is the fact that a mother would let her child spend the night with someone you don't know and it didn't get much better from there
I know it's only a story in a book but yet it's too unbelievable what this mother does
It is also in the format of then/now and I'm sick of books written in that format, however in this case it's the 'then' that you need to pay attention too
The parts in written in italics? I skipped most of that, it just wasn't necessary to insert a lot of that as it didn't move the story forward
So my 2 rating is because; I didn't like the writing style, didn't like the format, didn't like the unbelievable events of the whole thing

The most compelling aspect of Where I Left Her by Amber Garza is the author's depiction of a parent's anguish at the thought that her child is missing. I hope no parent ever feels that, but I can relate. The book takes me along for an adventure ride. The ending does leave me wondering about what happens next. It provides a conclusion as to what happened but definitely leaves an opening as to what comes next. Wonder if a sequel might be coming?
