The author was part of a Christian-based teaching exchange, Cooperative Studies. This book is part memoir, part travel tip, part cultural insight of Schimmels' one year adventure in China. Each topic is two pages, it reads like newsletter columns. Light and lively, never judging and facetious. Entertaining book for those armchair travelers. Quick read.
