Excellent read! I found myself gripped by this storyline, and didn't ever want to put it down. It is a large book but I ripped through it pretty fast. Very unusual plot --This was the turning point book in Koontz's career, and it is clear to see why!

This is one of my favorite Koontz books. You are reading a story thru the eyes of a child. Spooky and fun.

For some reason, I just couldn't get into this book. I read the first chapter and knew I probably wouldn't like it but I continued to read 2 more chapters in hopes that it would start getting interesting. But it didn't...not for me anyway. I've heard people say that this is their favorite Dean Koontz book, so I gave it a shot. But it was just too boring for me and right from the start I was confused because Koontz throws like 10 characters at you with not much description as to who they are and what, if any, connection they are to each other.

I hear that Dean Koontz is a fabulous writer, however, I could not get into the story. I would be unfair to rate it bad of good, so I wanted to rate it 50/50 in all fairness. If you like Dean Koontz, there is no reason why you should not like this book

The great ending makes up for the so-so rest of the book.

Typican Dean Koontz. Is he ever off his game?

Typical Koontz novel with excellent main character development, suspenseful plot and happy ending. This book is more realistic than most of his novels and doesn't employ fantastic elements.
All in all, one of his bests.

Hilary Thomas knew terror as a child, but never anything like this. He is hunting her with a sick desire more terrifying than hatred could ever be. And he is in her house again. Hilary killed him once and he keeps coming back.

Completely different book than that of another novel by the same name (different author). This is true Koontz at his creepiest best.
