White Collar Girl by Renée Rosen is in part a period piece of 1950s-1960s Chicago. At the same time, the themes of the book are universal. The struggle of independent women pursuing careers in traditionally male-dominated fields continues even today. The struggle to find work-life balance continues for men and women everywhere. These themes take this book beyond enjoyable historical fiction to a conversation relevant for today's world.
