Another eloquent entry in the Charlie "Bird" Parker series. I love the supernatural element that always runs through his books. Dark, disturbing, yet beautifully written.

The one thing I really appreciate about John Connolly's novels is the amount of historical perspective and background he provides, this one is no exception.

The paths of the living and the dead converge in this interesting saga about the death penalty and racial tensions. Interesting read.

A bit too "confused for me. This one is all over the place and he has trouble keeping the story in line.

Good. Not as good as the previous or the first, but better than the second. In many ways, this one was a continuation of the book before - _The Killing Kind_. It wrapped up some loose ends, but left some new loose ends. It was easier to figure out the mystery behind this one. And there was a definitively supernatural element to this one... more so than the ones before. Generally, I liked it.
