Not my usual reading choice, but this ice thriller was quite the page-turning adventure. The action was pretty much nonstop and the romantic tension between Ice Man Coop and polar newbie Angel was just right. The plot was strongest while they were struggling to survive on the ice with the bad guys in hot pursuit, but once the scene changed it just wasn't as exciting anymore. The ending is a definite cliffhanger which gets us ready for book 2, but I'm really not that interested to see what happens with the virus, the puppet masters, or the rest of the Polaris team. Angel and Coop were a good enough ride for me. 4 stars.
