Another great book in the Thoroughly Southern series. I think this is, in my opinion, the best written book yet. The plot lines are very intricate and include crimes and secrets that people think have long been buried. It is good to see the main character's husband, "Joe Riddley" improving in health, there is alot of dry humor here, and I would rate this, if it were a movie, PG, mainly because of some adult situations. A very cozy mystery and a nice, quick read. If you haven't read any of these books yet I would highly recommend them to you.

Another book in the Southern Mystery series, this story again reacquaints us with MacLaren Yarbrough and her lively extended family. Besides being the county magistrate and co-owner of a local plant nursery with her husband, Joe Riddley Yarbrough, Mac usually finds herself right in the middle of some mighty suspicious goings-on.
Any number of people could have discovered Dwight Evans, a favorite high school chemistry teacher and beloved softball coach, with his lifeless body swinging from the boys' lockeroom, but, true to form, Ms. Yarbrough just happens to be the unlucky first visitor to the locker room.
Another great southern-fried mystery by Patricia Sprinkle.

I have been reading this books out of order, as I can find them. This is my favorite so far, a little darker in tone, but still "thoroughly Southern" I love the expressions the characters use in speech and the fact that they pray for one another. This is not "Christian fiction" as a genre, but the characters are Christians for the most part.
Another great thoroughly Southern mystery, number 3.

Captures true Southern customs, personalities and small town politics. If you like Jan Karon's Mitford series, you will like this book.

5th in the series, but you don't have to read in order to have fun enjoying these books. I love the Southern Mystery series as it is comfy to read with the setting in the South and the culture is strong. This is murder in Georgia and Ms. Yarbrough is still in charge of the Feed, Seed, and Nursery. Plus she is county magistrate, but finding out her true calling is amateur sleuthing. Very fun read.
