Sixty-something Southerner MacLaren Yarbrough keeps busy as a county magistrate, a co-owner of a feed store and loving wife and mother. She's never to busy to snoop around and get caught up in solving murders. Funny story set in Hopemore, Georgia. I throughly enjoyed reading this book.

In Hopemore, Georgia, good ol' boy Skye MacDonald lives life large as a dedicated family man, backslapping civic leader, and flambooyantly successful owner of a local automobille empire. Very little happens in this cozy town without Skye's full knowledge and participation. So the whole community is shocked when his body is found on a muddy road, run over by his own car.

Another winner from Patricia Sprinkle! The end of this one really threw me. Sometimes, cozies are easier to solve in advance, but not this one and as I spend more time with this family, I enjoy each member's quirks more and more. This is a series that benefits from being read in order however so if possible, start from the beginning (When Did We Lose Harriet?)

One of the series of Thoroughly Southern Mysteries, Who Let That Killer in the House tells the story of MacLauren Yarbrough and her husband, Joe Riddley Yarbrough. To be a sixty something housewife, mother and grandmother, Mac sure can get herself into some murderous messes!

One fellow author described her books as "As Southern as Sunday fried chicken and sweet tea..." and they are indeed that.

One of the best in this series. The "who" dunnit surprised me to the end, although not the "why." These are such great charactors and the books in this series are cozy but real, which means that laughter and tears frequently mingle. The victim in this title is a friend of Mac's and Joe Riddley's, a family man, and pillar of the community. His death hits hard on several levels. A very satisfying book and series.

Patricia Sprinkle has done it again. MacLaren Yarbrough is a fabulous character. I have read every book in the series and each time I feel as if I am visiting an old friend. In fact, I am! The town of Hopemore and the characters that live there remind me of a small town in Georgia where I lived for three years. I am waiting with breathless anticipation for the next installment in the Yarbrough's life in Hopemore, Ga. I hope I don't have to wait too long!

An OK cozy with a lot of religious expression (Methodist as I recall)

This is one of the best books in the series so far. A good friend of Mac's and Joe Riddley's is run over by his own car. Mac of course has to "look into things a little" much to the distress of her family. There are so many twists and turns in the plot that you'll be double-guessing yourself about who did it after every chapter!. This series is a wonderful, gentle cozy, well-written and a nice clean read.

Judge MacLaren Yarbrough and her husband, Joe Riddley, have known the MacDonalds for years. So they can't help but get involved in this baffling murder investigation, especially when it produces more questions than answers: Why has Skye's son skipped town? How many secrets was Skye keeping? And...Who Left The Body In The Rain?

A cozy mystery set in a small Georgia town.

Fun, quick read about murder in a small Southern town. Being from Georgia, I appreciated the reference to things and places uniquely Southern, but the author interprets where necessary. The characters felt like folks I've met before. I look forward to reading other books like this one.
