Not worth passing on to another reader, it is a waste of your time. I sought "light" reading, ideally humorous and I love memoirs. The funny bits were few and far between. I was surprised to learn this was not written by a vulgar 13 year old - she's only 5 years my junior. Hopefully she is a better actress/screen writer than book writer. (If you too want light, humorous and memoir, I enjoyed Growing up by Russel Baker)
I'm a white American woman. This is one of the few books I've read that was not written by a white woman, but an independent and inspiring Indian woman with a sense of humor that is absolutely refreshing. For many comedians, one of the greatest challenges they face when they write a book is how to tell their stories that may be serious or heartbreaking and tell it with truth and humor. Mindy has this gift. I really enjoyed this book very much to a point that I plan to read her other book and watch her show, the Mindy Project which she talked about in her book a little bit.
