I appreciate Burelton's honesty regarding the horrible situation of her home life. Much like Dave Pelzer's A Child Called It, it resonates with me. I don't understand the horror of a mother who doesn't want a child -- this isn't something that anyone should experience.

I wish there was more detail regarding building her life after she escaped the abuse. Overcoming the trauma was more of what I was interested in.
