An enjoyable romance between war-weary Prince Sevastian and commoner-heiress Grier Hadley. Theirs was a 'hate turns to love' courtship; even though Grier was offended and hurt over Sevastian's superior attitude and his belief that she wasn't appropriate bride material (similar to Pride & Prejudice), they continued to dance around a shared sexual attraction while learning to appreciate each others' personalities. There was a bit of intrigue towards the end to give the story a different type of conflict, but that was nicely done and avoided the last-ditch effort pitfall that authors can sometimes resort to. Not a keeper, but definitely a fine romance. 4 stars.

I picked this book up by accident and I am so glad. The book completely swept me up in a very fairytale kind of way. Great characters that kept things interesting and not a lot of pity parties or people doing extremely dumb things. Add a little bit of wackiness and slight element of danger making it a wonderful read.

Definitely will try to read more by Jordan. I realized that I've read her paranormal novels before (under the name Sharie Kohler) but this one was much better.
