I'm really enjoying Roberts's creative spin of Olympus and its key players. Helen competing for a chance to be Ares was an absolute delight--go girl power! The Helen/Patroclus/Achilles menage, however, didn't work for me. Helen/Patroclus, yes; Patroclus/Achilles, yes; but I didn't care for the highhanded and arrogant way Achilles treated Helen. The enemies-to-lovers angle never works for me either. How do you go from I can barely tolerate you one minute to having hot, sweaty sex the next and, oh, since it was so good we can make this work? A letdown, that. I only hung in there to see the outcome of the competition. 3 stars.
