Wicked Deeds is book four of the âImmortals After Darkâ Series. This book is able to stand alone, but I recommend reading No Rest for the Wicked first because both books overlap. The ending of No Rest overlaps with the beginning of Wicked Deeds, plus Bowen and Mariketa are involved in the Hie which takes place in No Rest. The Hie is essentially an immortal scavenger hunt that takes place every 250 years. Bowen wants to win the prize desperately so he can go back in time and save his mate Mariah from her death. He has spent the last two centuries suffering from guilt because he was chasing her when she fell to her death. Mariketa, a witch, wants to win the Hie to prove to herself and to her coven that she is as powerful as has been foreseen.

First off, let me start by saying, this is a really awesome series. The world building and interesting characters make this a really fun read. Each book, so far in the series, has been really good and Wicked Deeds is no exception. I thoroughly enjoyed Mari and Bowen's story. Mari is a delight. She is funny, smart and courageous and quite the match for Bowen. Bowen is loyal, determined and fierce; and I loved seeing Mari get the best of him. This book was sort of like an episode of âMoonlighting,â with Mari and Bowen each trying to one up the other; very entertaining. I just loved it when Bowen would screw up and say something wrong and then try and fix his blunder. He did this multiple times, which then ensued plenty of groveling.

I did get a little worried towards the end of the book though, when there was still a lot of conflicts not yet resolved and only a few pages left in the book. Not to worry; it all works out at the end. I love the world and I was sorry to see it end. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I like her writing. This book (3) is better than book 2 but not quite as good as book one. I will keep reading them as long as she keeps putting them out.

Fully enjoyed this book. This one, as with the whole series are keepers.
Loved the interaction between Mariketa & Bowen. Laughed out loud at quite a few places while reading this book. Mari may very well be my favorite heroine of the series, and that's not easy for me to say since I am fond of all the women thus far. Bowen is a typical alpha male, but as he works through, and at times stumbles through, his own issues he really becomes the kinda man that any woman would want for a mate.

I was sooo looking forward to Bowes story. This book started out with a fantastic bang picking up and overlapping with the previous book in this series (which was fantastic). Mari, the sexy little mortal witch torments poor Bowe, but is the answer to his prayers. Bowe doesnt understand why he feels innately drawn to Mari when hes already met his mate and watched her die. He cant pull himself away from protecting her, and decides that may be Mari is her reincarnate. I fall for every guy in these books. The love hate between these two drove me nuts to the point that I raced through this book.

I absolutely hate it when I read a book and I can immediately relate pieces to popular movies. If you told me Cole sat down and made a list of all her favorite movies and picked which scenes would work in her book Id believe you. King Kong, Romancing the Stone, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Jerry Maguire, Snow White. There were more, but I got sick of making the list after this. Now that I have my beef about this out of the way, I still enjoyed the chase in the book. It all worked together and I still jumped right into the next in the series.

ALERT - Spoilers included.

Really glad I gave Cole a try. I am probably getting addicted to this series. The book was entertaining, with some humor, and lots of fun.

First lesson of the book is that if you are going to be a tease, you are going to fall into a ravine and die. No, seriously.

It was a very quick read. I love how these Lykaes are such idiots but somehow they grow on you. Even though Mari has abandonment issues, I didn't find her whiny or annoying. I felt she was justified to question Bowen. Although I have to say that if someone I am with calls out the name of someone else during sex and I am a witch, he better watch out. (insert evil laughter here) Mari was way too forgiving and nice about that.

I would recommend that you read the short story of Myst and Wroth and the first book before tackling the others. But it seems after that, you don't have to read them in order. I look forward to reading more of the series.

This is the forth installment of a series that began as a story in the Anthology "Playing Easy to Get". This is the story of Bowen whom we met in "A Hunger Like No Other" and "No Rest for the Wicked". He is a Werewolf who lost his One Perfect Mate. Mariketa is the daughter of a Druidess and a Sorcerer. Half Fey, Half Witch. Bowen has a bad history with Witches. He believes that the reason he desires her is that she put a spell on him. Mariketa believes that she has always been second choice... her father left her and died, her mother left her, even her first love. She refuses to be second best to Bowen.

This was a great story with plenty of action. The beginning takes place during the same time as the ending of "No Rest". If you liked the others stories, you will enjoy this one too.

Kresley Cole weaves another exciting installment in the Immortals After Dark series. The beginning is intertwined with the end of No Rest for the Wicked (book 2), which adds more flavor than the standard strategy of inserting synopsis paragraphs to set up the situation for those who didn't read the previous book of a series. The result is the same - this book can stand alone. However, having read the prior one, it gives the feel of watching the same scenes through another's eyes.

While this book can stand alone, I'm not sure you get the full picture of Bowen's 180 year torment without reading book 2, nor do you get a detailed picture of his suffering due to the curse Mari places on him right before he seals her in a tomb. What you do get fully is how a Lykae male takes care of his mate... picturing all this as I furiously fan myself (Oh my!). He's not just a fierce protector and lover, he cherishes her as she is the most precious and fragile thing in his world.

Parts of this book will make you cry in outrage, other parts will make you cry in sorrow, as Mari works through her feelings of inadequacy (which most of us can surely relate to) and Bowen works through his guilt over his mate's death and confusion over his feelings for Mari. In the midst of all that, there is plenty of action and adventure as Bowen tries to get Mari safely through the jungle and to a phone to avoid an all out immortal war.

The best book of the series, I've read through 6. I loved the charactor of Bowen since I first read about him. He's brooding, angry, strong and finding and protecting his mate is the only thing he knows. Enter "Mari" is she or isn't she, read the book to find out. You will keep this book and read it again I gaurantee it.

First let me say this review is bias as I am a little in love with Bowen myself.
I enjoyed this thoroughly!! Cole's series just keeps getting better. Mariketa is a sassy and strong willed woman that, I think, any woman can relate to. Her headstrong dtermination is a great counterpoint for Bowen's frustrated stubborness. Bowen's heart is in the right place though and you just can't hold it against him. You can really feel the plight of both characters which kept the pages going to figure of what the resolution would be.
I'm hooked.

Bowen is the sexiest description you can give a man, his hunger & lust for his mate drove me wild! This book just takes you into a whole new world/dimension where you really, really, really want to be his receiver.

If you have never read Kresley Cole's steamy hot paranormal books then you NEED to get one fast you won't be disappointed and it will be so hard to put the book down.

Of all the Immortals After Dark books, this one was the most fun loving. Mariketa is strong and funny and Bowen intense with an appreciation for strong, talented women.

Mariketa is supposed to become the most powerful witch their house has ever seen, but she has no control of her power and hasn't yet ascended to immortality. Bowen is a Lycan warrior who's been devastated for hundreds of years because he lost his mate. They meet while competing in the Hie, an immortal scavenger hunt, and the chemistry is HOT.

These characters kept me entertained and smiling! What a fun read!

This book picks up where No Rest for the Wicked leaves off; only the focus switches to Gavin, the werewolf that Sebastian enclosed in the fire rocks. The story entwines the lore of the Witches with the life of the werewolf Gavin - and the reason(s) that he had been in misery before meeting Mariketa.

Thankfully, they keep getting better. This is a charming love story that actually has some story to it. More than can be said of the previous two. The primary characters in this novel are expanded from Book 2. Very fun and very effective. Ms Cole is starting to find her stride. I do enjoy the characters she has created in this series and they are becoming more fun and charasmatic. I found I laughed out loud at some of the comments Mari made about Bowe. Bravo! "Father Time"... Ingenious and funny!

I would recommend reading the stories in order, as the characters in this series are entwined from other novels. A trait I thoroughly enjoy in a series.

I'm on book 4 in the series and this one is still my fav by far. Mari and Bowen make an amazing couple, very heated romance with great building tension. Loved it.

Bowen saw his mate die in a freak accident in the early 1800s. Since then he has mourned for her years thinking he would never find another. However, nearly two centuries later, he finds himself intensely attracted to Mariketa, a young fey/druid witch, when he shouldn't be for Lykae only have one mate in their lifetime. Bowen and Mariketa meet during the Hie which is the immortals' version of The Amazing Race. The Hie is a race around the world to find various artifacts in old and dangerous places. The winner gets a key to go back to the past. Bowen wants to use the key to go to the past to prevent his mate from dying.

This book had nicely paced action and repartee. Mariketa she wasn't a pushover. She owns her sexuality and isn't afraid of it unlike the heroines in some stories. She's also very capable of putting the hero in his place when he needs to be put in his place. Bowen is charming, loving, and sexy. Both h/h had deep mistrust issues they had to overcome. Her reluctance to be with him given his past was understandable. His reluctance to believe he might have a second chance at love was also understandable. I liked the hero in this book more than the hero in the first book of this series. Bowen is the epitome of a Lykae mate. The things he does for Mariketa are so sweet.

You can read this as a stand alone book, but the story is much more interesting if you've read the first two books.

Don't avoid the book because of the ugly cover. The title is misleading. Most of this book takes place in the steamy tropical jungles of Central America, not winter in a cold climate.

Can a werewolf have two mates? Nope, so why does Bowen want the women near him who he senses as his mate, when he already lost his a couple of centuries before.....hehehe. Find out.

I am quickly falling head over heels in love with this series. After this book and the first in the series, I want myself a Lycae. Whew! Those boys are hot. Anyway...this book had so many plot twists and turns I don't even know how the author stayed caught up with it all. It all flowed well though, and it was amazing. This book is my favorite so far, and you definitely need to read it. I am about to start the next one, and I can not wait.

I really enjoyed this book. Picked it up and could not put it down until it was done. Bowen has been through so much pain. He lost his mate and blames himself so he's been living a miserable life and cuts himself off from family and friends. Suddenly he gets a chance to compete in the Hie and the opportunity to bring her back. Instead he encounters Mari who sets his blood to boiling and things become hot and heavy. When the witch and the wolf connect, the combination is "explosive." You'll love this book.
