I used to think that I was a fan of smut without plot. Reading books like this is causing me to re-think that. This has got to be one of the worst bits of dreck I've ever had the misfortune of sitting down and trying to read. Completely unrealistic, even for a smutty book, and completely unarousing. It seems like the author was just picking plot devices out of a hat and then writing them into the book.

Glad I wasn't the only one to think so. Blech!

UGH! I agree! I can't believe I wasted a credit for this one!
I love this author, but this was not one of her better books. The characters were not believeable, and the story line seemed incidental to all the sex scenes (strictly vanilla) Even the sappy happy ending was incongruous, as the hero & heroine both did a complete 180 in the last few pages of the book. WTF?
Lots of sex, little solid story. Woman wants to make old high school friend feel guilty for how he treated her way back when but it makes her seem small and petty.
Good idea for a book with the "Fantasy Cruise" but the whole thing felt rushed just to get the sex scenes in. I agree with the other reviewers that the ending was a 180 and kind of felt like it is just to get it finished.
What would you do if you were an adult with the opportunity to get back at a man who destroyed you as a teen. That's exactly what this story is about.
Cassidy Ferrill is invited on a cruise to witness her mothers boyfriend's son renew his vows. The son also happens to be the father of the man who destroyed her when she was in high school. Knowing that he's going to attend she plots her revenge.
When Sloan see's Cassidy, (also known as Fatty Ferrill) he's shocked. He remembered her as a chubby girl. Now she's no longer chubby, but a beautiful woman with curves that beg to be held and can make a man hard at first sight, and he's no exception. Upon meeting her again she dismisses him when he doesn't recognize her. He follows her and begs for forgiveness for not recognizing her. Out on the terrace they make a pack to become lovers for the duration of the cruse, no strings attached. Of course this doesn't happen. All it takes is Cassidy dismissal of him after their first incredible night together before he begins to see how other woman must have felt when he'd dismissed them. It hurt and he couldn't understand why Cassidy didn't want more, especially knowing they have a connection. The more time they spend together the more he wants from her, yet the more she pulls away.
Two days before the cruise ends they have a falling out. Cassidy leaves the cruise without a backward glance only to find Sloan on her front porch. She becomes overwhelmed. It doesn't help that she has another man, Tony, at home vying for her attention. Tony is everything Sloan isn't. He knows he should let her go, yet he just can't find the strength to let her go. He's selfish and he knows it, because he just can't help it with her. Coming to terns with his feelings for her doesn't come easily. He realizes that what he wants with her is what he's been running from his whole life. How can this one woman change him so much. I guess his brother was right. Once you find the right woman you'll know.
This book was an emotional roller coaster that didn't let up till the very end. It was also hot and heavy with explicit sexual details that left little to the imagination and a lot of frustration for me. It's a great book.... Thank you Kathleen Lawless.......
