After listening to this book ; I was glad that I did not "read" it. I wondered how in the world those commentaries and commercials and all those extra sound effects could be put into a paper book. And after reading reviews I see that listening to this book must have been the right choice . Inventive and yes sometimes tedious to the meat of the story ; all those extras did make the audio more like a radio play. And I was so anxious for the end of the real story that I zipped through some extra dialogue ( by a tour guide in the present day) just to get to the end . The main character Lydia does have an interesting turn of the century tale. This is a book better on audio.
