5 Star rating hands down.

I almost skipped over this book based on previous reviews here. That would have been a BIG mistake.

This story starts with a bang and never lets up until the last chapter. Non stop action, danger, suspense, smokin sex scenes and a who dun it that had me all over the place trying to figure it out and nail the perpetrator. Didn't come close.

My summation is, if you are looking strictly for erotica, you'll be disappointed. If you are looking for an intense, action plot filled with danger and suspense that keeps you turning the pages...you won't be.

The writing was done so well, at times I could smell the raging fires eating up the forest. From the first chapter, I was involved completely in the overwhelming emotional consequences the heroine faced in dealing with one of the most devastating experiences a woman alone can come up against. The hero...a 'wus' Ha. That man was smokin. Not only smokin, but portrayed realistically, mature, intelligent, an alpha in every mature sense of the word. No comic super hero here, just genuine.

This was the very first book I read by Bella Andre...it was fantastic. The story centers around Maya Jackson, a young woman who is reeling from the fire-related death of her brother. Through her grief she falls into a hot one night stand with firefighter Logan Cain. After the hot night together they part ways until Maya walks into Logan's workplace to investigate him as an arson suspect. This book is very interesting, sexy, intriguing and hard to put down. The couple is very sexy and the story is full of layers. Great read.

First off let me warn Bella Andre fans that this book is nothing like her others. It is definitely a romantic thriller, not erotica like her other books. I do have to say that the love scenes were steamy though. The story itself was good, but I just could not get invested in the male character, for someone who was to be a tough firefighter he was kinda a wuss and just rolled over for the heroine throughout the book. I would think that someone who was being investigated for being an arsonist would have been a little more surly towards the woman investigating him. I like my heroes with a little more attitude, I guess.

AWESOME! Arson investigator Maya Jackson has suspended firefighter Logan Cain on suspicion of starting the current fire ablaze in Tahoe. Logan is shocked at the accusation and dismayed at not being able to support his crew of firefighters. There have been several bad fires and explosions since her investigation and both Logan and Maya are targets of the arsonist. Ultimately, Logan and Maya join forces to figure out the identity of the arsonist.

The heat between Maya and Logan is intense. The romance is spectacular and even though Maya is scared to love a firefighter, Logan is determined to make her fall. A truly wonderful story and lucky me only the beginning of the series. I can't wait to read more about these hot as hell firefighters.

It wasn't dreadful, but to me it wasn't that great either. Lost interest half way thru and made myself finish it. I really like Bella Andre, but I think I like her other (erotic) books way better. Try Game for Anything and Game for Seduction. Totally different, more interesting

"Cheesy" is what came to mind when I finished this book. Thanks to the other reviewers for letting me know there may be something more to my liking in her other titles.

Hot and steamy. Had a problems with a few things but not enough to ruin it for me. (sorry no spoilers from me).

I enjoyed the arson/firefighter plot. I liked that the big baddie was...well I can't say what I really want to say as it may be seen as too much of a spoiler.
I thought some of the time Maya was too stupid- instead of focusing on catching the arsonist, she was thinking (constantly) how hot Logan was. Do your damn job! I was severely annoyed the first time they made hawt, hawt love they had just survived Logan's truck blowing up. "She slowly ran her fingers over shoulder blades, down his spine to his lower back, making contact with cuts and bruises and a couple of peddles EMBEDDED in his skin." Yes, embedded. Instead of say, going to the ER to get his back cleaned and stitched up, they have sex. I mentioned that scene to hubby and he paused and then said, "Well maybe they were just so overcome by the moment." Sure. Meanwhile he is bleeding everywhere. (Maya would also have to sport numerous bruises- she was thrown and then Logan landed on top of her). No mention of calling the police to file a report. No mention of calling the fire department to say, have them put out the fire. Logan lives in the woods (dry trees, pine needles) and his house is a cabin. I kept thinking something else is going to catch on fire! It was conveniently mentioned (after the hawt, hawt sex) his trunk was surrounded by gravel. I kept thinking, so? You're a frickin' firefighter!
So, all that said, it kept me entertained.
