Helpful Score: 1
This is the 3rd book in the Hidden Legacy series and was was my favorite book of this series yet. I enjoy the characters and thought that the storyline made some good progress.
Progress is finally being made towards Nevada's family having their own house. I also like that Rogan and Nevada have developed a better balance with each other. Rogan's ex is in the story and, although this does cause some tension between Rogan and Nevada, it was well done and never comes off as annoying or childish.
There are a lot of interesting politics going on in here with more talk of a big conspiracy that will hopefully develop more in future books. There are also a lot of excellent action scenes that are well written. I think my only disappointment was that the trials Nevada and family had to undergo to become a House ended up being very rushed, trivial, and kind of squeezed in right at the end. I was hoping this was going to be a bigger part of the story.
I continue to enjoy the characters and am finally starting to enjoy the world as well (if took me awhile to warm up to this world...I just don't think it's quite as interesting as worlds in other Andrews' series).
Overall this was the best book in this series yet. I am really loving some of the plot developments that are happening and continue to enjoy the characters. I am also slowly warming up to this world. I would definitely recommend to fans of action-packed urban fantasy.

Terrific series
Ilona Andrews has done it again. I'm having a horrible time deciding which series, Kate Daniels or Nevada Baylor, is my favorite. I've finally decided I can't choose, so there!!
Beset by familial problems, Nevada has decided the only way to move forward is to found her own house. It's the only way to finally take a stand against her grandmother and save her family from Victoria Tremaine's evil intentions. While Nevada is a truthseeker, like grandma Victoria, she likes to have the people she has compelled still possess a mind when she's done sifting thru it. Grandma V rarely leaves any cognition behind, and Nevada has no intention of allowing Victoria access to her family and their magical abilities.
Nevada finds herself doing a tremendous balancing act, keeping the family safe while helping Rogan's ex-fiancee Rynda locate her missing husband. Rynda's blatant attempts at wooing Rogan back to her side certainly doesn't endear her to Nevada either.
The plot makes several unforeseen turns, and I got so caught up in the story that I finished it in one reading!
If you like paranormal stories, and a take no prisoners heroine (and hero), take a look at this series. Just be careful what time you start reading, no sleep is a definite possibility!
