Nice little story about not judging someone by their looks or by their past. I enjoyed it.

This is only Karen Witemeyer's 3rd book. She is such a gem!! I love her style! As in "The Tailor Made Bride", she chooses people from completely opposite walks of life to fall helplessly in love. Beautiful, sweet story! I so loved it! I love the epilogue at the end of a book and this one is so perfect! What Levi says to someone at the train(trying not to give anything away) brought tears to my eyes and stole my breath away! This book has everything you could wish for...love, drama, action, friendship.......just a perfect story!

I enjoyed this light hearted read but it still had a deeper message that I think anyone could be inspired by. I am enjoying this author as I have read three of her books so far. I would recommend it to a friend.

This was another fun story from Karen Witemeyer, but I enjoyed her first two books better. Eden was a puzzle: on one hand so judgmental throughout the entire book that I found it difficult to like her or root for her, and on the other hand still doing good things - though sometimes requiring prodding from others. Eden was not alone in her poor attitude, as several of the townspeople were just as judgmental as she, but it's easier to brush it off in a secondary character.

I finished reading the book to find out how things go for Levi. On the other hand, I really loved some of the secondary characters, including Chloe and Duncan. I wish they had their own book so I could find out what happens to them.

If this is your first book by this author, I'd recommend reading A Tailor-Made Bride instead.

With thanks to the publisher, Bethany House, for my review copy.

I liked the idea behind this story, but found Eden hard to relate to at times. She tended to be a tad to judgmental for me. Besides that, I enjoyed the story. I thought it flowed well and was well written.

I read a lot of Christian fiction. A lot. I love a good story that is wholesome and satisfying while glorifying God. In the course of my reading I have come across many books that meet the definition of good. They have a good story line, the characters are well rounded and the plot is interesting. But if something happens to take me away from my book for a few days, it is no big deal. Then there is the occasional book that captures my attention so completely that I cannot stand to put it aside for other things. I have read all three of Karen Witemeyers books and each one has fit into the cant put it down category. To Win Her Heart is her best effort yet.
Eden Spencer is fiery, beautiful, wealthy, and suffering from a broken heart and engagement. She is determined never to let a man get the best of her again. She has resigned herself to spinsterhood and spends her time trying to contribute to her community while staying employed in worthwhile pursuits. Levi Grant is a man with a past who is trying desperately to put it behind him and get on with his lifethis time with God as his guide. The chemistry between these two opposites is believable and captivating. The author has a way of letting you slip into their lives and feel what they feel. The emotional and physical struggles are realistic and there is the passion of a good love story while still holding to Godly standards in the writing. I could not wait to get to the ending of the bookbut at the same time I did not want it to end.
A good book will leave you feeling satisfied and that your time in reading was well spent.
A truly great book will touch a place deep inside of you and speak to your soul. To Win Her Heart did that for me.

Bethany House Publishers graciously provided me with a review copy of this book. My opinions are my own.

Levi has a past that he would like to leave...in the past. His move to Spencer, TX is just what he needs. The local town is in need of a blacksmith and he has the skill and knowledge to fit the job.

Eden is a lonely lady who is really thinking she'll live the rest of her life alone after what her broken engagement. While she loves books and reading, there are some things that pages in a book cannot replace. She could have anyone she wanted. Afterall, she is the heiress to the town's founder!

Sheriff Pratt is always on the prowl...for women that is. While he desperately wants to woo Eden, she won't give him the time of day. How can he ever win her heart?

This is the 3rd Karen Witemeyer book and I believe she gets better with each one. She spins a tale of romance, humor, and a little bit of suspense as well. The mine scene seemed so real in this book it's as if she was sitting there watching the activity all unfold while writing this story.

My favorite line in this book comes from a scene with Chloe while she's chewing Eden out. Having teenage daughters, it was almost as if they were saying the line and I found it very funny (although the scene is very serious). Chloe says "...but if you can't see the good man he is, you need to unscrew them eyeballs of yours and try on a different pair." I just love that!!!

So who wins who's heart? Well you'll have to read and find that one out. I loved the ending. It was a total surprise to me (based on what I thought would be a small part in the book!). That's all I'm saying about that though! Have a tissue handy...I bawled like a baby through the last 10 pages or so!

To Win Her Heart is a touching story of unexpected love. The story progresses at a good pace and avoids the cliches in many romance novels. To Win Her Heart is clearly written from a Christian perspective - not only determined by the lack of lustful imaginings and sex scenes, but by every element of the writing. The main characters are sure in their faith and are set to live their lives by it. This does not deter from the romance in any way, but adds to it. It has it's few "action" moments to keep you from getting bored, and it teaches respectful values.

After reading this author's first two books, this one was a bit of a dissapointment. While on par with many good and well written works in its' genre, the knowledge of how much more this author is capable of (especially shown in her first book)makes this book, for me, less than spectacular. Good characters, good plot, good story, just no spark of genius.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Loved the characters and their spiritual growth. Sometimes I forget that when God forgives, He forgets, and so should I.

Another great story from Karen Witemeyer. This is the second book I've read by this author and I really like her style of writing. To Win her Heart is filled with lots of great characters. Eden was someone you really liked. She was very sweet and sincere but had a judgmental side to her. I think Eden represents most of us pretty well. Probably more than we want to admit. Levi was a really great hero. Even though he had a very tainted past, you could really see how the Lord had changed his heart. But you also saw how he still struggled with temptation. I think that was so realistically represented. Most of us can relate to that aspect as well. I loved the interaction between our two main characters. You really felt their attraction. I also enjoyed Eden's father. He brought a smile to my face. And I can't forget to mention Ornery the dog. He will steal your heart right from the start. If you like historicals you won't want to miss this one. I would definitely recommend it. A thank you goes to Bethany House for providing this complimentary copy for my review.

Eden Spencer is a beautiful green eyed, redhead whose rich dad owns the town of Spencer. Eden has always had everything she wants materially and she is a christian. She has had one love that went sour and is determined not to make the same mistake twice. She meets the new blacksmith in town Levi Grant and falls in love. But when he tells her about his past, she forgets that after we become a christian we are a new person. And God forgives our past when we become a christian so we must forgive others past.Eden forgets this and is a miserable lady. We must follow the Bible if we would be a Christian. This is a beautiful romance.
