Great series. It just keeps getting better. I love all the characters in these books. I was a little upset about the ending but it did set up the next story so I will get over it.

The series is fascinating conceptually and truly different from other paranormals and I would ordinarily be raving about it - the characters are strong, the dialogue is good. That said, it is probably one of the most frustrating that I have read - it seems that Caine is incapable of finishing a book by actually ending it. Windfall and Firestorm (Book 5) are basically two halves of the same book which ends with yet another "cliffhanger" to book 6. It isn't unusual for books in this genre to have a major world arc that moves throughout the series, it is very annoying to never have a book actually end.

Joanne gets a little more annoying in this book. It's one thing to be rebellious and independent, it's another to constantly do the stupidest thing just because someone doesn't want you to.

Okay, have I said these books were intense before? If so, that was nothing compared to this one. Intense doesn't even begin to describe it. Heart-breaking for sure. Wondering who can be trusted. But seeing that Joanne does have friends and that there is hope. But like Joanne, I, too, am heart-broken.

This series is very intense with fast pacing and crazy twists. Sometimes I wonder if the characters are totally insane though. Some choices are just way too bizarre.

Joanne Baldwin has quit the Wardens. She is forbidden to use her powers and now earns a living as a TV extra on the weather portion of the news. She is still desperately trying to find a way to heal her Djinn lover David, who has been turned into an Ifrit. Suddenly the Wardens are after her, believing her to be responsible for the unusual and dangerous weather patterns in her area. The Djinn have split into factions, and one side is killing humans to free their brethren and recruit them to fight the Wardens for power. The detective partner of the evil Quinn is determined to wring the truth from her about his demise, and on top of it all, her sister has arrived on her doorstep after being dumped by her husband for a younger woman.

Joanne's plate is certainly full, but somehow I am less sympathetic to her in this book. Caine keeps ramping up the magic in her world, and it seems like it has the potential to get out of hand and be too much for her to handle. So far she has managed to juggle the different supernatural aspects of her world while raising the stakes with each novel, but if she keeps trying to top herself it will eventually become absurd if she's not careful. I'll have to see how the next books turn out.

Joanne Baldwin is having a tough time. The former Weather Warden is forbidden to use her powers, so she takes a job she hates as a TV weather girl. The Wardens are watching her because they believe she may be manipulating the weather in Florida. On top of that, Djinns who do not like being enslaved and are breaking away from the Wardens in an all out war; a vengeful cop is following Joanne around town, trying to ask her questions about the disappearance of his partner in Las Vegas; and Joanne's newly divorced sister has shown up on her doorstep. How is Joanne supposed to cope with all of these problems while trying to find a way to heal her Djinn lover, David, who has been turned into an Ifrit?

The fourth book in Caine's Weather Warden series is non-stop action. The series has a roller coaster ride feel to it and I'm not sure where we will end up. One thing I loved about this book was we were not inundated with meteorological terms like we were in the first two books of the series.

We are also introduced to some new characters including Joanne's new friend and co-worker, Cherise; and Joanne's sister, Sarah. I think we'll be seeing more from these characters in the future. Of course, Lewis, Kevin, Rahel and master Djinn Jonathan were back to try to keep the war at bay. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

Joanne is trying so hard to be "normal" and fit in. She gets a job as a Weather Girl at a local station.
Meanwhile she gets a visit from her formally rich sister who is running from a bad divorce.
Her sister moves in, and finds a cute but mysterious boyfriend.
Joanne has got so many problems with horney weather men and a van that is stalking her day and night.
Sarah gets in head over heals with her British beau and Joanne is trying to keep her wits about her with David who is slowly draining her and dying himself.
Some of the constant problems she has is kind of overwhelming, but this book ends with a really good break to go into another novel.
Kind of makes you want to buy the next to find out: will David ever be restored? Will Joanne ever have her and Davids baby?
Who is the mysterious people that want the Djinn bottles blackmarketed

Great Series, but must be read in order, author really fails to do much reviewing to catch up readers, or even to review.
