Straight romance from early in Nora Roberts' career (1984 & 1988)... two stories with handsome, virile heroes and sweet and sassy heroines. In both of them our plucky heroines are not eager to commit, but those determined men win out in the end.

You really can't fail with a Nora Roberts book and this one has two stories in it. You can tell that they are older books though because of the setting and etc but well worth the read. Supposedly it's the first time they've been released in about 10 years. Rules of the Game involves a jock and a straightlaced advertising exec; Name of the Game involves a down to earth actor (do those really exist?) and an up and coming producer trying to get beyond her show biz family's strings.

Rules of the Game
She had vowed never to mix business with pleasure. But one look into the mesmerizing eyes of Park Jones was all it took for Brooke Gordon. He was utterly desirable and completely off-limits...so Parks was going to have to break a few rules to convince her that love wasn't just a game to him, it meant forever...
The Name of the Game
Johanna didn't give her trust easily, especially not to a man who lived in the public eye. So why has Sam appearing nightly in her dreams? The man had a way of slipping past all her defenses, of coasing her into his arms. He desperately wanted to win this game...when the name of the game was love.

Two novels in one book, "Rules of the Game" and "The Name of the Game." Both well up to Roberts' standards of romance. "Rules" pits a TV commercial producer against a pro baseball player, while "Name" has a TV game show producer refusing to be seduced by an actor. Both excellent.
