I am glad I read this book, although it was different from the others. It was definitely slow moving, and I could have put it down at any time before the last several chapters. Towards the end, however, Ms. Turner had found her usual rhythm, and I did not want the book to end. I was disappointed that there appeared to be no resolution to the biggest dilemma in the book--that of Aunt Sophie's unfortunate discovery. She has definitely left ample room for a sequel. Hopefully the next one will be a little brighter and quicker paced. But definitely don't neglect to read this one. It's still a great book.
