Enjoyed this story set in the old west. Makes me want a cowboy of my very own. The story was great, had a great pace, some new twists and turns and great characters. Love re-reading this book.
3 of 5 stars. The protagonists meet in the first scene in a case of lust at first sight. Her lovable qualities are apparent throughout the book, so it's believable that he falls for her. I wasn't so sure what drew her to him beyond good looks. The action takes place in a small valley in the frontier west; spanish silver and her need to find it before the nearby bandits do carry the plot outside the love story. Supporting characters include her little brother, a devoted old outlaw and his woman, and Hunter (from Autumn Lover). I found the relationship between the heroine and her supporting characters to be the best part of the novel. She's a strong character throughout, and she saves her own day in the end. There's one dream-sex scene which I could have done without, but overall I'd recommend Winter Fire as a good western romance.
