A detailed, though unfortunately tragic, story of the Arctic. There is much information on the culture and how trappers of 100 years ago lived, as well as the tale, handed down by oral tradition, of a woman fighting to lead her children to food and safety after her husband died on their distant trapping trip. Good read as a survival story and also an information source on Eskimo lifestyle.
