I have not read the Lunar Chronicles, but reading this book, I didn't feel I had to know exactly what happened in that series. Things were explained nicely for new readers so I wasn't lost about what had happened and could easily figure out the few little details that were missing. The artwork is granted a little animeish, it's not going to be your Disney quality, nor is it full of color images, it's blue and black colors mainly. Still, a wonderful read, and the art work was cute.

I love the Lunar Chronicles and was very excited to see that Meyer had started a graphic novel series set in the Lunar Universe. While I wasn't a huge fan of the artwork in this book, it did grow on me as I read the book. The story was amazing and I loved revisiting the Lunar Chronicles world.

It was so much fun to get to see where all of our favorite characters are at now in this world and I enjoyed the new story with Iko as the lead heroine. Iko has a lot of spunk and a unique perspective on things being that she's an android in a human world.

The illustration was done in all blue tones and wasn't my favorite style of illustration. However it was easy to follow and the illustration did add a lot to the story. It helped that the story was so good that I completely forgot my dislike of the illustration style by the end of the book.

Meyer does take the time to explain who people are and some background, so those who are new to the Lunar Chronicles world will be able to enjoy this as well.

Overall I would definitely recommend if you are a fan of the Lunar Chronicles. If you just want to peek into the Lunar Chronicles world this graphic novel would be great too; a lot of the background is explained really well. I would recommend to Lunar Chronicles fans and fans of sci-fi graphic novels. I will definitely be picking up the next book in the series.
