Empires rose from the visions of ambitious men. Blazing axes razed the forests and built new cities from sweat, blood and tears. Schemers and scoundrels, artists and craftsmen, honest wives and sensual mistresses all braved the lawless wilderness to find their fortunes...risking everything for a dream...and the nightmare of Black Friday, a day of infamy that would shake the nation's future.
#19 in the Wagon's West Series
It is a great book for someone on a school assignment.
This one is the 19th in a series "Wagons West". I have almost all of the series. They are great; especially when you have them all. You can order all that I have as a "box of books" if you like. They are strictly Westerns though.
Great Series!
Not much real history, mostly a chic lit. Romance and some adventure. Also not much Wisconsin history, most of it takes place in the west or Europe.
I love this series. I'm reading the whole series from book #1-24
I enjoyed this book as with all the other Wagons West Series. This is #19 and I have read all 18 up to now and not lost interest. Would highly recommend the whole series.
the book is really into the west during the 1800's. deals with more than one family during the period. tells what it was like to live in the west in wagons .
I love this series. Always give historic information on the state along with a great story line.
Like all Wagons West very much. JAD
