Genies...no. Djinn...actually just one djinni and that was more than Zoe Calderone counted on when she actually gave into her daughter's desire to conjure up some creature of fantasy. However, the larger-than-life djinni she has summoned into her life is definitely all male and absolutely gorgeous. He is also arrogant, antagonistic, and oh-so-delicious with his sable hair and smoldering eyes. Zoe has too much in her life already though. A very precocious daughter and a fledgling multimedia business fill her days and nights. She has no time for silly wishes or a temperamental djinni. Simon, as these pitiful humans know him, is bound by a spell to serve his summoners. He is near the end of his imprisonment and will soon be able to rejoin his people. His exile and his previous experiences with humans have left him jaded, but he can see that this new summoner is different right from the start. First of all, she is totally doubtful of his ability to use magic. Second, she refuses to use her wishes based on some deep-seeded fear from her younger years. Tricks don't seem to work. Coercion doesn't seem to work. Will passion? Toss into this already chaotic mix a returning ex-husband, business sabotage, computer tampering, and you have the true spirit of Kathleen Nance's first book.

This is a book that makes you believe in magic.
"You're so serious all the time. You don't laugh much. You don't see anyone. Face it, Mom, you need a genie." No, thought Zoe Calderone, a genie was exactly what a hard-working, pragmatic, single mother like herself didn't need. But when she went along with a hokey conjuring ceremony to humor her nine-year-old daughter, the impossible happened: A tall, dark, simfullly sexy djinn appeared ... stark naked. "What are your wishes, Summoner? I can do anything but bring the dead to life or foretell the future." And so Zoe found herself facing a dilemma. The haughty stranger refused to leave until she'd made her three wishes, but there was no way she was going to risk more magic going awry. Yet the longer he stuck around, teasing her with his gorgeous body, soothing her with his gentle consideration, the more she was tempted to let him grant her every desire.

What a cute story! This book cover has a corner torn off, but I liked the book so much, I wanted to share it. Hard working, single mom Zoe goes along with a hokey conjuring ceremony and ends up with a tall, dark, sexy djinni - who won't go away until she makes her three wishes.
