For the third time in a row, I have to declare this novel by Penelope Stokes a total winner!
As usual, the characters were well rounded and people you sincerely cared about. The main difference from the previous two novels I read were that the main characters each went through situations that were more contemporary and relevant in today's society.
Also, as usual, Stokes used the past and present theme, although not to the extent that she did in the previous books I've read.
This book, too, was a real page turner for me, and I finished it in about one day (only stopping for work and to sleep alittle bit). Stokes' novels tend to keep me awake, for the main reason that I tend to read them before going to bed and end up not sleeping until much later.
There was abit more suspense in this novel, mainly in relation to the grand-daughter Neal. And abit more romance for the main character Abby. The situation in relation to Edith, the grandmother, really tugged at my heart (although I have not experienced anything like she did). And there was abit more emphasis on faith in God, which I thought was extremely well done.
All in all, definitely worth 10 stars...but, O.K., I'll give it 5!
Now I just have to wait for more credits so I can order more of her books!!!!

For those of you who read THE WISHING JAR, this is the prequel, although you will be able to read from the start with true enjoyment. Three of the Quinn women, who had possessed the wishing jar, handed down through five generations, no longer feel very strong, faithful, or pure. Abby's husband was killed by a drunk driver. Her mother suffered a stroke. Her daughter is barely coping with the grief from her father's death, and then there are the changes in her mother. The Quinn women no longer believe that wishes come true. The legend of the wishing jar seems to have died off. But has it? Things begin to change. Maybe, just maybe, Abby will find that she has a heart again.

Excellent book!
A really great story! Hated to read the last pages!
I read the Blue Bottle Club and have been hooked on this author ever since. This is my 4th read and I have two more to go....I love them. In each book you travel back into the past and I guess this is what appeals to me the most.
This is a delightful book about Edith, Abby and Neal Grace, three strongth Quinn family members and how faith has played such a big part of their lives even when they did not know it. It was easy to read and uplifting.
Another fantastic read by Penelope Stokes! Very compelling, well written. Didn't want to put it down. Great characters, always pointing to God. You'll love it!
