Very good Regency that takes place in a familiar early 19th century setting, except for the existence of witchcraft and magic. Miranda, the heroine, comes from a family of "mages" descended from Merlin and the hero is a skeptic about all things supernatural.
This is the first of two books about the Wodesby family, the second one is "Lord of Illusions".
