Different not a bad read
I enjoyed listening to both of the narrators. They had a good sense of expressing emotions in their voices.
The story is about a brother and a sister kidnapped and thrown in prison after being accused by the New Order of being a Witch and Wizard. Their time in prison, their escape, and what happens after that was enough to keep me reading.
The biggest thing that bothered me throughout the book is that the narration and dialogue don't sound natural. It seems like the authors were trying to make the teenagers sound hip. It made it difficult to get into it.
The other thing that bothered me is that at the end, one of the characters actually speaks directly to the reader to tell them exactly what lessons the book is trying to express. A good book generally wouldn't need this kind of commentary to make the reader understand the meanings within the pages.

I listened to as much as I could stand, about 2 CDs, then the discs started skipping. I didn't think it was very realistic, I know kids that I have taught could come up with more sadistic tortures than the ones in the beginning, all you'd have to do is read about Iraq to come up with better systems. For instance, why were the 2 kids incarcerated together? I think JP keeps everything sanitized now that he's the best selling author in the world.
