Paranormal erotic romance, by Joey Hill. The sequel to A Mermaid's Kiss is the story of Mina the Seawitch, and the angel, David. Mina has to be the most tragic, tormented character I've ever read about. She is half mermaid, and half Dark One. She struggles to control the dark thoughts within her, the call of the Dark Ones and has been shunned by all. She's terribly scarred physically and emotionally. Then the angel David is sent to protect, and monitor her. This is a complicated, drawn out love story about to people who are polar opposites. Light vs. Dark. The story drags a little, and the final battle between good and evil takes forever. The conclusion is very satifying. Can Mina accepts both her nature, and her feelings for David? There is also some humor in the last part of the book. There are hot sex scenes, that aren't overdone, and the plot remains strong. Good book.

I really liked Mina. I have not read the first part of this story but I was easily drawn in. I found the world the author created fascinating. Mina was one of the best female leads Ive read in a long time.

Mina, part mermaid and part Dark One, is a shape shifter who can take the form of a dragon as well as a mermaid, a human and a Dark One. Mina agonizes daily over the darkness inside herself and does her best to balance it with light and goodness. David, made angel (not born) was once human and died at a young age to be reborn as an angel. He has his own struggle between darkness (his human side) and light (his angel side). So he understands the battle that Mina is fighting.
another good book!
