A very good book. I have read it twice and it gets better with each reading. Very hard to put down.
I literally bored myself through this book. Instead I learnt a lot about the Mormon community, their favor of avoidance instead of confrontation within their own families and church. This whole might have been a bit one/sided but gave a pretty good impression of the writers antipathy.
All in all the book is terribly boring. The writer didn't invent a main character much likeable and her writing in first person doesn't help much.

Decent read, finished in two days. More interesting for me than the story plot was the inside story on growing up in a Mormon family. Too much drama, not believeable.
I really enjoyed this book! Not at all what I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised. The cover is deceiving...made me think of V.C. Andrews books or quick-read murder mysteries. This book is so much more. Great character development and fantastic back-stories, I highly recommend this one.
This book was just OK for me. There was STRONG anti-mormon sentiment, and the story never really went anywhere.
I know there are some negative reviews of this book because it offers a critique of the Mormon religion, but for those of us who are not Mormons, I found the book informative and interesting. As with most faiths, the heroine struggles with disillusionment due to tragedy. The plot is interesting and the heroine is genuine and real. I really liked it!

i haven't read this book, but i can tell from the other reviews that there is a strong anti-mormon thing going on. i am mormon, or lds. i don't know what the author put in there, but if she's not lds herself, then she doesn't know what she's talking about. if you have any questions, then ask me. people who single out religions just because they're different and because they don't understand them, well that really bugs me. i would never read this book.
